Announcements : 12th October 2025

1. Today is the Twenty-Eigth Sunday in Ordinary Time.


2. Today we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Pilar. Please remember all the Pilar Fathers in your prayers.


3. Throughout this month, please pray the Rosary. If possible, please visit your neighbors and pray for their well-being.


4. Cemetery cleaning has begun. Parishioners are requested to join and help with the cleaning on the 19th and 26th of October.


5. Mission Sunday is on 19th October. Mission envelopes have been given to the councillors. If you haven’t received one, please collect it from them. Kindly return the envelopes by 27th October.
On this day, we will pray for all the Clerics, Religious, and Laity who work for the Mission of Christ. A second collection will also be made for the Missions and sent to the Bishop’s house.


6. On 19th October, the SVP will put up a canteen in the church premises after mass. All profits will go towards supporting the missions. Those who want to sponsor anything for the well-being of the missions are requested to contact the SVP members.
Anyone wishing to sponsor any amount may kindly do so at the parish office.


7. The Walking Pilgrimage to Mount Mary Shrine, Bandra, will be on 21st October. We will leave the church at 6:30 a.m., and Mass at the Basilica will be at 9:00 a.m. Parents are encouraged to send their children, and it would be wonderful if we could all join in large numbers. Those who are unable to walk may come directly to the venue by auto.
Please note: There will be no 6:30 a.m. Mass in the church on that day. Both Mass intentions will be read during the 7:00 p.m. evening Mass.


8. On 26th October, is the Silver Jubilee Celebration of some of our Pilar Priests, which will be celebrated in Pilar. We request you all to please keep them in your prayers, especially Fr. Querobino and Fr. Raymond, who are among them.


9. During the Diwali holidays, parents are requested to send their children for daily morning Mass.



Announcements : 5th October 2025

1. Today is the Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time.


2. After the weekday morning Masses, only a few people stay back for the Rosary near the Grotto. Those who are free are encouraged to join this prayer. Parents are specially requested to send their children, at least on Thursdays.


3. October is the month dedicated to Our Blessed Mother. As the statue of Our Lady visits different communities, all families are requested to pray sincerely for the needs of the Holy Father, our priests, religious, laity, and especially for our nation.


4. From today, after every Mass, we will say a Prayer for Peace, Protection, and Communal Harmony in India. This prayer has been introduced in all churches of the Bombay Archdiocese as recommended by Archbishop John Rodrigues.


5. Today, after Mass, there will be a PPC meeting. All members are requested to attend the same without fail and be on time.


6. On Monday, 6th October, we will celebrate the birthday of Rev. Fr. Anthony Cardoz. We will pray for him during the 7:00 p.m. Mass.


7. On Tuesday, 7th October, we will have the 2nd Rite for the Confirmands, and on Friday, 10th October, the 2nd Rite for the Communicants. All Confirmands and Communicants are requested to attend the Mass along with their parents without fail. Please inform your parents in advance.


8. On Sunday, 12th October, we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Pilar, the patroness of the Pilar Fathers. Let us pray that the Pilar Fathers remain true to their missionary call.


9. There will be a meeting of the Irmaos on Sunday, 12th October after the 9:15 a.m. Mass. Those who wish to join the Irmaos are also welcome.


10. The cemetery cleaning will be done on two Sundays - 12th and 19th October.


11. Sunday, 19th October is Mission Sunday. The Mission envelopes have been given to the councilors. Please return them by Monday, 27th October.



Announcements : 28th September 2025

1. Today is the Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time.


2. On Monday, 29th September, the Visitation of the Jubilee Cross comes to an end. We will all gather at Sea Shell Apartments at 6:30 p.m on that day and from there, we will proceed to the church in a procession, followed by mass. Afterward, the Jubilee Cross will remain in the church until December.


3. Instructions regarding Proper attire and a request to switch off the mobiles during the services are mentioned on the foam board just outside the Church main entrance. Kindly read and respect the church services.


4. From Wednesday, 1st October, we have the visitation of Our Lady around the communities. The Statue will leave the church after the evening mass. During this devotion, please maintain simplicity, modesty, and decorum. Avoid unnecessary expenses, parties, or any form of competition.


5. The List of the visitation of Our Lady has been given to the councilors. Dates are finalized by the Parish Priest along with the Parish Council. If anyone wishes to have the statue of Our Lady on any specific date, you may exchange dates in the community itself. No community member should take the statue of Our Lady from another community. You must take the statue of Our Lady that is given to your community only.


6. Friday, 3rd October, is the First Friday of the month. Holy Half Hour will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by mass.


7. On Sunday, 5th October, there will be a PPC meeting immediately after the 9:15 a.m. mass. All PPC members are requested to attend on time.


8. Pluri Intentions will be taken during this week and the same will be announced during the 9:15 am mass on Sunday. From 29th September, you can give your intentions, which will be announced on the 5th of October. Pluri intentions will be taken only for that particular week.


9. Archbishop John Rodrigues has requested us to pray at all masses regarding the Maharashtra Government’s plans to introduce the Freedom of Religion Bill in the State. A special prayer has to be recited after every mass in the church and in families, starting from 5th of October 2025.



Announcements : 21st September 2025

1. Today is the Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time.


2. Since we have only 6 communities and the Jubilee Cross visitation will end area-wise on 29th September, we will all gather at Sea Shell at 6:30 p.m. From there, we will go in procession to the church, followed by Mass. After this, the Jubilee Cross will remain in the church until December.


3. Because many parishioners have requested it, and keeping in mind the parameters from the Archdiocese, we will now have Pluri mass intentions on Sundays every week. These intentions will be read 5 minutes before the 9:15 a.m. Mass only. On Saturdays, we will continue with the Box Intentions as usual. Pluri intentions for Sunday can be given anytime during office hours for that week, and the same will be read on the following Sunday.


4. A big thank you to everyone who helped make our parish feast a success! However, we still need more participation from all communities in the programs we organize. The Youth worked hard to prepare a good program on the evening of the 14th, but unfortunately, parishioner involvement and participation were very low.


5. Last Sunday we announced giving names for the Visitation of Our Lady. The last date for submission was 20th September, and the final list is ready and will be shared soon. The statue of Our Lady will go house to house according to the list. However, if anyone wants to have the statue on a specific date, you can arrange it directly among yourselves within the community in a good manner, without involving priests, councilors, or animators.


6. Job Opportunity: For boys and girls aged 18 to 24 years at Sun and Sand, Shirdi. A 45-day hotel training course is available, free of cost, and job-oriented. Minimum requirement: 10th Std. (SSC) passed.



Announcements : 14th September 2025

1. Today is the Twenty-Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time.


2. We wish you all a very Happy Feast of our Patron - The Holy Cross.


3. Today at 7:30 p.m., the youth are organizing a Cultural Evening. The entry fee is Rs. 20, and this is the same for everyone, including the participants. We request all parishioners to come and support this event.


4. After Mass, please enjoy a piece of cake. We sincerely thank our benefactor for their generosity in sponsoring the cake.


5. In October, we will have devotions to Our Lady. Kindly give your names to Fr. Anthony Cardoz by 20th September so that we can plan properly, as decided in the PPC meeting, regarding whose homes and on which days the statue of Our Lady will be kept.


6. Since we have only six communities and the visitation of the Jubilee Cross ends on 29th September, we will gather at Sea Shell at 6:30 p.m. From there, we will move in procession to the church, followed by Mass. The Jubilee Cross will then remain in the church until December.


7. Those who would like to become Irmaos are requested to give their names by 28th September. The minimum age requirement is 21 years.


8. Due to the high demand from parishioners and as per the Archdiocese guidelines, we will now have pluri intentions for masses on Sunday's every week. Anyone who wishes to offer a Mass may do so, and all Mass intentions will be read five minutes before the Mass begins. On Saturdays, we will continue with the Box Intentions.


9. Soon, we will be holding the induction of new Eucharistic Ministers. Those interested are kindly requested to give their names at the earliest so that we can proceed with the required formalities.



Announcements : 7th September 2025

1. Today we celebrate the Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time. During the novena days, there will be games organized after Mass. We kindly request your participation and support.


2.Today, Sunday, 7th September, the Procession of Our Lady will begin at 8:45 a.m. from Sangeeta Apartments with the band, and will be followed by Mass in the church.


3. On Monday, 8th September, we will celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The feast Mass will be at 7:00 p.m.


4. On Sunday, 14th September, we will celebrate the Feast of the Holy Cross. A solemn procession with band will commence at 8:15 a.m. from Union Bank to our parish, followed by the feast Mass at 9:15 a.m. All parishioners are warmly invited to join this celebration.


5. On the same day, 14th September at 7:30 p.m., the youth will be organizing a Cultural Evening. The entry fee is Rs. 20, and this is the same for everyone, including the participants. We encourage all parishioners to come and support this event.


6. Regarding love offerings during novena days, as discussed in the PPC meeting, we kindly request all members to abide by the same.


7. A heartfelt thank you to all who attended the Mass at Mount Mary, Bandra on 5th September, and also to those who came on their own. Your presence truly reflected the unity and strength of our parish community.



Announcements : 31st August 2025

1. Today is the Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time.


2. During the Novena of Our Lady, the parish youth will conduct games, while the catechism children along with their Catechists will organize food stalls. Kindly support and encourage them.


3. On Thursday, 4th September, the Holy Cross Banner will be blessed before the 7:00 p.m. Mass. The Rosary will be recited first, followed by the Blessing of the Banner and then the Mass.


4. The Novenas of the Holy Cross will begin on Friday, 5th September. Each community has been entrusted with organizing the Liturgy, Choir, and Thanksgiving Prayers for the day. Communities will also put up food stalls. Parishioners are requested to participate actively and in large numbers.


5. The Procession of Our Lady will be held on Sunday, 7th September, starting at 8:45 a.m. from Sangeeta Apartments with a band, followed by Mass in the church.


6. On Sunday, 7th September, a PPC meeting will be held after the 9:15 a.m. Mass. All PPC members are kindly requested to be present and on time.


7. On Monday, 8th September, we celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Feast Mass will be at 7:00 p.m.


8. On Sunday, 14th September, we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Cross. A grand procession with a band will commence at 8:15 a.m. from Union Bank till the church. All parishioners are invited to join this procession and celebration. The Feast Mass will begin at 9:15 a.m.


9. Love offerings from communities during the Novena days, as discussed in the PPC meeting, should be followed as agreed.


10. On Friday, 5th September, Holy Cross Church, Juhu Tara, has been given the responsibility for the 6:30 a.m. Mass at Mount Mary. Parishioners who wish to attend may avail the bus facility arranged by the parish. Please note that Tuesday, 2nd September is the last day to submit your names.



Announcements : 24th August 2025

1. Today is the Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time, also observed as Justice Sunday.


2. Church cleaning in preparation for the Novenas of Our Lady will take place on Wednesday, 27th August. All communities are requested to participate.


3. 27th August is the Feast of St. Monica.


4. 28th August is the Feast of St. Augustine.


5. 29th August is the Feast of the Passion of St. John the Baptist.


6. From 30th August, we begin the Novenas in honor of the Nativity of Our Lady. Parishioners who wish to sponsor sarees or small dresses for vesting the statue of Our Lady are kindly requested to submit their names in the parish office by 28th August. Those who would like to sponsor sweets or gifts for children during the Novenas are also requested to give their names in the office. The Rosary will be recited daily at 6:40 p.m. before the Novena Mass.


7. During the Novena days, games will be organized after Mass. Parishioners are encouraged to participate.


8. On Thursday, 4th September, the blessing of the Holy Cross Flag (Madi) will take place before the 7:00 p.m. Mass.


9. The Novenas of the Holy Cross will commence on Friday, 5th September. Each community has been assigned the responsibility of organizing the Liturgy, Choir, and Thanksgiving for each day. Parishioners are urged to participate in large numbers. Please see the parish notice board for details.


10. On Friday, 5th September, the Novena Mass at Mount Mary is allotted to our deanery (Central Suburb). Holy Cross Church will conduct a Mass at 6:30 a.m. Parishioners are requested to attend in large numbers at Bandra.


11. On Sunday, 7th September, there will be a PPC meeting after the 9:15 a.m. Mass. All PPC members are requested to be present and on time.


12. Confessions will be available for parishioners from 6:00 p.m. to 6:40 p.m. on all Novena days. Kindly make use of this opportunity.


13. Kindly note that on Saturday, 30th August, the evening Mass will be a Novena Mass celebrated in English. On Friday, 5th September, being the First Friday, there will be no Holy Half Hour. Likewise, during the Novenas of Our Lady and Holy Cross, the regular Novena of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour on Wednesdays will not be held.

4. On 22nd August is the Feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary.


5. On 30th August we begin the Novenas of the Nativity of Our Lady. Those who want to sponsor sarees or dresses for the statue are requested to do so by the 28th August and give your names in the parish office. A detailed program is on the church notice board.


6. Those who want to sponsor sweets or gifts for children during the Novenas may give your names in the parish office.


7. The flyer with the themes for the Novenas of Our Lady and Holy Cross is already on the church notice board. Kindly check it.


8. Parishioners are requested not to put any cloth items on the church loft as it may attract pests and make the place dirty.


9. Those who are getting married must complete all paperwork at least 6 months in advance. No last-minute papers will be accepted.


10. On the 5th of September, the Novena mass at Mount Mary is assigned to our deanery. Holy Cross Church will offer the mass at 6:30 a.m. Parishioners are requested to attend in large numbers at Bandra.



Announcements : 10th August 2025

1. Today is the Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time. We remember the prison ministry today and pray for people in prison and those who serve them.


2. Today there will be a second collection for the Clergy Fund. Please be kind and contribute generously.


3. On 11th August is the feast of St. Clare. On 14th August is the feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe.


4. On 15th August, we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady. Masses will be at 6.30 a.m. in Konkani and 9.00 a.m. in English. After the 6.30 a.m. mass, there will be flag hoisting organized by Holy Cross School. There will be no evening mass that day. The youth will organize games for parishioners at 3.00 p.m. on the beach. Please join as one big family.


5. On 23rd August, there will be a Pre-Baptism Course from 4.00 to 6.00 p.m. Please register your names in the parish office.


6. On 30th August we begin the Novenas of the Nativity of Our Lady. Those who want to sponsor sarees or dresses for the statue are requested to do so by the 28th of August and give your names in the parish office. If anyone wishes to sponsor sweets or gifts for children to be given during the Novenas, please give your names in the parish office.


7. Those who offer masses for special intentions are kindly requested to be physically present for the mass.


8. On 16th August 2025, a Konkani Tiatr named 'Dudduvank Lagon' will be performed at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi at 8.00 p.m. Please support the show.


9. Parishioners are requested not to put any cloth items on the church loft as it may attract pests and make the area unclean.

Holy Father’s Universal Prayer Intention: For Mutual Coexistence
Let us pray that societies where coexistence seems more difficult may not succumb to the temptation of confrontation arising from ethnic, political, religious, or ideological differences.


1. Today is the Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time.


2. As we celebrate Pastors’ Day in our parish today, let us pray for all our priests—both past and present—who have served in our parish to shepherd the flock.


3. On the 10th of August, we will have a second collection. The proceeds from this collection will go towards the Clergy Fund. Please be generous.


4. On 15th August, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Lady. On this day, morning Masses will be held at 6:30 a.m. in Konkani and at 9:00 a.m. in English. After the 6:30 a.m. Mass, there will be a flag hoisting ceremony on the campus, organized by Holy Cross School.


5. On 17th August, we will observe Prison Ministry Sunday. On this day, we are encouraged to pray for those in prison.


6. On 23rd August, a Pre-Baptism Course will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Kindly register your names in the parish office.


7. On 30th August, we begin the Novenas of the Nativity of Our Lady. Those who wish to sponsor sarees or small dresses to vest the statue of Our Lady are kindly requested to do so by the 28th of August, and to give their names in the parish office.
